精萘又名萘（精），白色易挥发晶体，有温和芳香气味，粗萘有煤焦油臭味，闪点80℃，熔点 80.1℃ 沸点217.9℃，不溶于水，溶于无水乙醇、醚、苯，密度比水重，性质稳定，主要用于合成邻苯二甲酸酐等。以往的卫生球就是用萘制成的，但由于萘的毒性，现在卫生球已经禁止使用萘作为成分。
